Williamsburg Sunset, Then a Pint on Kent Ave
The park named for a Stonewall veteran sits on a 19th-century shipping dock, and the sun drops behind Lower Manhattan across the water. It is open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, and the pub a two-minute walk north pours until 2 a.m.
🗺 Two stops, one short walk
🌇 Seven acres facing the Manhattan skyline
The state kept the bones of a 19th-century shipping dock: cobblestones and rail set into concrete under native meadow, with Manhattan straight across the water. Enter at 90 Kent Avenue; the dog run marks the north corner at Kent Avenue and North 9th Street. On 1 February 2020 the park took Marsha P. Johnson's name, the transgender activist at the Stonewall Uprising. It opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. every day of the year; entry is free.

🍺 A pint two minutes north
Kent Ale House holds 51 Kent Avenue, one block north of the park's North 9th Street corner, a two-minute walk. Two dozen taps lean on New York breweries and rotate with the season; the kitchen sends out burgers, sandwiches and baskets. A mystery beer or seltzer with a shot runs $10 all day and all night: the bartender chooses the pour, and tax and tip come on top. The room runs to 2 a.m. Monday to Thursday, 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

🚶 Reading the light by season
Sunset runs from 4:28 p.m. in early December to 8:31 p.m. in late June, and the November clock change pulls it an hour earlier overnight, so check the time for your date before you leave. Be at the railing 20 to 30 minutes early, stay until the skyline flattens, then walk north to the pub. Alcohol is banned inside the park, so the second stop carries the evening. The ferry landing is six minutes from the park gate, and Bedford Avenue's L is 11 minutes from the bar.
