Sunset Bridge Views and a Chocolate Finish
Move through courts and play zones, with a dog run at the park for active groups. The bakery's brunch feedback is mixed, and visitors often find the chocolate shop's sundaes pricey.
Overlooks, Coffee, Chocolate
Late Night Hudson Lookout
J. Hood Wright Park gives Washington Heights an open-air evening stop with a Hudson River overlook and views of the George Washington Bridge. Its paved loop supports jogging and biking around a central lawn edged by rocky outcroppings. Basketball and handball courts add active options, while distinct play zones include a toddler sandpit. A cordoned off-leash run has water facilities, and restrooms are available. The grounds stay open daily from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM.

187th Street Comfort Counter
At 813 W 187th St, Dutch Baby prepares sandwich bread, pickles, and slaws in-house. Coffee pairs with scones and pumpkin cheesecake bars. Slow-cooked pulled pork and biscuits bring a savory option, with craft cocktails available later in the day. A private event room is available upon request. Hours run from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Wednesday, then continue until 10:00 PM Thursday through Sunday.

Empire Base Chocolate Counter
At 16 W 34th St, a Ghirardelli shop anchors a Midtown stop beneath the Empire State Building. This is the brand's first New York location. Blue and gold tiling and a replica marquee sign reference the brand's San Francisco origins. The menu includes hot fudge sundaes, with espresso, milkshakes, cookies, and brownies available too. Sundaes run around 20 dollars. Hours are 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM Sunday through Thursday, extending to 11:00 PM Friday and Saturday.
