Sugar Refinery Catwalk at Sunset, Then Pints Across the Street
Walk a catwalk on salvaged sugar warehouse columns, catch the Manhattan skyline near sunset, then bring dinner into Other Half.
Two Stops, One Block of River Street
A Catwalk on Old Sugar Warehouse Columns
Start at the north end of Domino Park and climb the elevated walkway, which runs several blocks on 21 columns saved from the old Raw Sugar Warehouse and keeps the river, the Williamsburg Bridge, and the Manhattan skyline in view. A ramp near the gantry cranes gives step-free access. Back on the promenade, the Artifact Walk lines up more than 30 relics from the refinery, including syrup tanks and two 80-foot cranes that once unloaded raw sugar from ships.

Lawns, Mist and the Last Hour of Light
Lower down, the lounge-chair lawn faces Midtown across the East River, and the Fog Bridge sends out a light mist about every 10 minutes. Entry costs nothing, and the park stays open daily from 6 AM to 11 PM, with a dog run, a refinery-themed playground, and volleyball and bocce courts along the way. Pick a chair in the last hour of daylight before sunset, when the sun sinks toward the skyline across the water.

Pints and a Picnic Across River Street
After sunset, cross River Street to Other Half Brewing. The taproom pours its own beer along with wine and draft cocktails, and it serves no food but lets you bring your own, which turns a picnic packed for the park into dinner at the bar. Walk-ins are seated first come, first served. The taproom stays open until 11 PM on Friday and Saturday, 10 PM Monday to Thursday, and 9 PM on Sunday.
