Step Into A 1700s Dutch Farmhouse At Prospect Park's Edge

A 1700s Dutch farmhouse holds period rooms, a working garden, and hands-on colonial history steps from Prospect Park.

🏡 Inside the farmhouse

Lefferts Historic House is a 1700s Dutch Colonial farmhouse moved to the edge of Prospect Park, near the Flatbush Avenue entrance. Inside, period rooms are furnished the way a Brooklyn farm family kept them, from the hearth to the parlor. Costumed interpreters lead hearth cooking, open-fire demonstrations, and Revolutionary War drills on the lawn out front. A kitchen garden grows heirloom vegetables and herbs the household would have raised. Children churn butter, card wool, and play period games, which makes the house a steady weekend stop for families exploring the park.
