Rooftop Sushi and Smoking Cocktails Above Downtown Miami

Share robatayaki and sushi over theatrical cocktails on a ninth-floor pool deck above downtown Miami.

🍶 Sushi on the Ninth Floor

Yamashiro takes over the ninth floor of the Gale Hotel, trading street noise for a pool deck, palms, and a long view over downtown Miami. The room leans dark and moody after sunset, and the bar sends out cocktails wrapped in dry-ice smoke that photograph as well as they drink.

The kitchen works modern Japanese with a Miami accent. Robatayaki skewers, maki rolls, and crudo arrive plated for a slow, shared dinner, and the sushi counter turns out the sharper end of the menu. Portions run small and refined, and a table tends to order in rounds.

It prices like the rooftop it is, and weekends fill with a dressed-up crowd. Come at golden hour for the light on the pool, or later when the DJ takes over. Reviewers rate it 4.8 across nearly 2,500 visits, one of the more polished rooftops downtown.
