🏛️ A Revolution Story for 2026
Brooklyn Tavern Theater brings the musical back for a 2026 season tied to the 250th anniversary of the United States. The story opens in 1775, as news of revolution reaches a Catskills village, and nine actors and a pianist follow Rip Van Winkle's neighbors through war, ghostly explorers and gnomes. Old Stone House marks the site of the Battle of Brooklyn, the largest battle of the Revolutionary War. The stage photo at the top comes from the company's 2025 run.
🍺 Show Up Early for Flip
Flip was the most popular tavern drink in the colonies, and the ticket listing invites guests to come early for a free sample at the Old Stone Oven, to the right of the museum entrance. Sampling runs 6:45 PM to 7:25 PM before evening shows, and 2:15 PM to 2:55 PM before the Sunday matinee. The listing does not say whether the sample contains alcohol. The show is listed for all ages, and parents bringing kids should check with flipmaster Kim before taking a cup.
