🎃 Sunday Carving at Noon
⛪ Midday Carving on Fifth Avenue
The Church of the Heavenly Rest gathers its 20s and 30s group on Sunday, October 25, for a midday pumpkin carving contest at 1085 Fifth Avenue. Set between regular morning services and afternoon classes, the one-hour session offers a relaxed autumn activity where conversation happens naturally around carving tables.
🎃 Bring Your Pumpkin and Check Ahead
The church listing specifically asks attendees to bring their own pumpkin, with no entry fee posted. Because this session is coordinated through the parish young adult ministry, newcomers should contact the church office beforehand to verify open participation, as well as whether carving tools, scoops, and newspaper are provided on site or should be packed from home.
☕ Walk to Coffee at Cooper Hewitt
When carving wraps at 1:00 PM, walk one block south down Fifth Avenue to Tarallucci e Vino at the Cooper Hewitt museum. Entering through the East 90th Street gate brings you to an open courtyard terrace for espresso, warm pastries, or a glass of wine, turning the midday carving session into an easy two-stop Upper East Side Sunday.
