Play Hudson River Wildlife Games for Free Inside Pier 57
Hudson River Park's Discovery Tank turns local fish and river ecology into virtual games kids steer themselves.
🐟 Games Below the Surface
The Discovery Tank takes walk-in visitors on three afternoons this round, Nov 12 and 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. plus Nov 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.. The park sends visitors to its event calendar for gallery hours rather than the daily 11 to 8 posted for Market 57.
Screens replace tanks inside this technology-powered gallery. Kids tap and steer their way beneath the surface of the Hudson in a run of interactive games, meeting the critters that call local waterways home on screen. The park bills the room as an environmental classroom for budding scientists of all ages.
Entry is free, all ages, and no reservation is listed. Lunch is in the same building, with Market 57 on the Main Level, open daily 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and kiosk hours that vary by stall.
The A, C, E and L stop at 14th Street and 8th Avenue, then it is about 10 minutes west on foot.
