Perennial Gardens And Harbor Views At Manhattan's Southern Tip

Bike paths, flower borders, and skyline lookouts fan out from the harbor edge at the foot of Manhattan.

🌷 The garden at the harbor

At the foot of Manhattan, the park trades lawns for dense perennial beds that shift with the season, planted in a loose, naturalistic style. Spring brings magnolia and tulips, and winter leaves red winterberry standing over the snow. Paths wind out to the railing, where the harbor opens toward the Statue of Liberty and the Staten Island ferries slide past. Kids line up for the SeaGlass Carousel, its fish lit from within as they turn. Benches face the water, and the wind carries salt up from the bay all afternoon.
