Pasta and Sharp Martinis Before a Times Square Show
Arancini, bistecca, and Italian wine come out quickly enough for a curtain call inside a Midtown hotel near Bryant Park.
🍝 Before the Curtain
Chef Charlie Palmer's AperiBar sits inside the LUMA Hotel on West 41st Street, a few blocks from the theaters, and it is built for the dinner you squeeze in before a show. Order a martini first, then move into the Italian side of the menu.
The pick is the spaghetti al limon, bright and simple, with bistecca and arancini close behind. Pizzas come on a flavorful dough, and a curated wine selection gives the table another direction when cocktails are not the plan. Staff get steady praise for attentive service, a real asset when curtain time is close.
Sunday through Wednesday the doors open at 3 PM and close at 11 PM. Thursday also starts at 3 PM and stays open until midnight, while Friday and Saturday open earlier at 2 PM and close at midnight, which leaves room for a post show plate on the busiest nights of the week.
