Omakase in Greenpoint for 13 Guests at a U-Shaped Counter
Omakase in Greenpoint for 13 at a U-shaped counter, with a land and sea tasting menu that opens on a mussel cappuccino.
🍣 Counter Seats and Mussel Cappuccino
Omakase in Greenpoint gets intimate at U Omakase, where 13 guests sit around a U shaped counter close enough to watch every course come together. The seasonal Japanese tasting menu moves between land and sea, opening with a signature mussel cappuccino before creative, highly plated fish dishes arrive one after another.
A chef curated playlist runs under the meal, and the evening is split into two seatings, each paced at about 75 minutes, which can feel brisk toward the end. The tasting course costs a little over 100 dollars, and BYOB is allowed with a 20 dollar corkage fee per bottle, an easy way to bring a favorite sake or wine to a date night.
Dinner runs Wednesday and Thursday from half past six, Friday and Saturday from 6 PM, and Sunday from half past five. The counter is closed Monday and Tuesday, and with only 13 seats, each seating feels like a dinner party built around the next plate.
