Description
Constructed between 1803 and 1812, the landmark serves as the seat of municipal government, housing the office of the Mayor and the chambers of the New York City Council. Its architectural design pairs a classical French Renaissance exterior with a Georgian Revival interior.
Active security measures mean entering the building requires booking an official tour in advance. Outside, the structure anchors City Hall Park, where visitors can take in the architecture from benches near the central fountain or pick up food from nearby trucks.
