Description

Sharing its historic home with the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the gallery features the popular presidential portrait gallery. Venturing to the upper levels—via elevators that visitors note have a "haunted mansion" vibe—reveals modern, immersive works on the third floor, framed by the building's striking architecture. The space also serves as a venue for live jazz nights, taking advantage of the interior's excellent acoustics. An auditorium theater, a gift shop, and a café round out the site.
