🍳 Morning Classics Meet Latin Flavors

An early finish at work leaves room for breakfast at Boogaloos in the Mission. Standard morning fare shares the menu with Latin and Caribbean flavors. The restaurant is open daily from 9 AM to 3 PM, a daytime stop for the hours after an early shift.

Polenta with eggs, biscuits and gravy, and chorizo or soyrizo hash anchor the kitchen. Antonio Luna and Karla steward the restaurant, continuing a neighborhood story that began in 1994. You will find its colorful dining room at 3296 22nd Street in San Francisco.

Boogaloos took inspiration from neighborhood predecessor Spaghetti Western. Its spirit also draws on the 1960s New York boogaloo movement, where soul and R and B energy met Latin rhythms. That musical reference gives the name a history beyond the breakfast table, connecting a Mission brunch stop with a cross cultural movement.
