🍜 Udon And Japanese Small Plates

Raku Midtown is a Midtown udon restaurant tucked past sister bakery Patisserie Fouet at 776 9th Ave. Beyond the bakery, the dining room pairs checkerboard walls with perimeter booths and communal tables, and the noodles arrive with a chewy, springy texture in broth that ranges from deep and savory to lighter dashi.

Start with nabeyaki hot udon, then branch into sushi, seafood donburi, tatsutaage chicken, and sweets. The pork brings a distinct smoky flavor, and craft cocktails pair easily with Japanese small plates. Chef Norihiro Ishizuka began his culinary journey at thirteen in kappo and udon restaurants in Japan, and built Raku on over sixty years of experience.

Plan for Monday from 5 PM to 9 PM, Tuesday through Friday from noon to half past nine PM, and Saturday and Sunday from half past eleven AM to half past nine PM. Prices land in the mid-priced range.
