Light Crispy Slices From a 1964 Brooklyn Family

Grabbing a Sicilian slice with basil hinted marinara and premium Grande Cheese, then sitting outside for a summer lunch.

Start with a Sicilian slice.

🍕 The Sicilian Slice Leads

Frank Fontana Sr. opened this Brooklyn pizzeria in 1964, and his sons, Sal and Frank Jr., now keep his old world Italian recipes in steady rotation. Original Pizza of Brooklyn still runs as a second generation family operation on Ralph Avenue.

The Sicilian slice is the one to order. A light, crispy crust carries a basil hinted marinara and premium Grande Cheese, a point of pride the shop commemorates on the wall. Beyond the pies, the menu stretches into a wide variety of rolls, and the garlic knots are a neighborhood favorite.

Service is quick and the vibe is warm and familiar, with outdoor seating for summer lunches. Slices stay inexpensive, and whole pies sit in the mid priced range.

Doors open at half past ten AM every day. Sunday through Thursday the counter runs until 1 AM, and on Friday and Saturday it stays open until 2 AM. Keep bills handy at the counter, a classic cash only operation from open to close.
