Twenty illuminated books appear to take flight over North Beach, a glowing tribute to San Francisco’s Beat poets.
Description

At the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Broadway, artists Brian Goggin and Dorka Keehn assembled the permanent installation using cast glass and aluminum, suspended overhead to mimic a passing flock. Embedded directly within the glowing pages are lines drawn from Lawrence Ferlinghetti's poem 'Wild Illumination' and texts acknowledging the city's broader literary heritage.
