Japanese Tea Garden
park
Around $0.00
Carved from a former limestone quarry, this lush garden winds past stone bridges, koi ponds, and a 60-foot waterfall.
Description

In 1916, park commissioner Ray Lambert envisioned transforming an exhausted cement factory pit into a Japanese-style landscape. The design turned the quarry's deep void into an asset, enclosing winding paths beneath towering limestone walls, a central island, and an ornate Japanese pavilion. Alongside the historic stone arch architecture, a lush year-round floral display brings birds and butterflies into the basin, creating quiet pockets to sit and take in the natural surroundings.
