🛒 A Japanese Pantry on Third Avenue

Yamadaya, the Japanese grocery that built its following downtown, has opened its fourth NYC store at 1281 Third Avenue, on the corner of 74th Street and right across from J.G. Melon.

The store pairs a grab and go side, with prepared sushi and Japanese sweets for a quick lunch, with aisles of imported snacks, matcha, pantry staples and tableware. Stock rotates, and the shelves change from one visit to the next.

For Lenox Hill, the shopping that used to mean a trip to the Village, Flatiron or Murray Hill now sits on Third Avenue, and the store keeps the same hours every day, from 10:30 AM to 9:30 PM, an easy stop on the way home. Shoppers rate it 4.5 across 27 reviews so far.
