Designed by Takeo Shiota in 1915, this section of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a classic work of Japanese landscape architecture. The layout integrates a Shinto shrine into the hills, while lily pads and small fish occupy the water. While popular during peak bloom seasons, visiting during the midweek offers a quieter window to find a bench and sit.
