Description

A Lower Manhattan playground that trades the usual fixed structures for a sand pit, a slide, and sprinklers, with the real draw being its stack of giant blue foam blocks. Children build, explore, and reshape the space on each visit, and the setting stays close enough to the harbor for fog horns and the smell of the Hudson. It is generally clean and well-organized, though hot days offer little shelter—shade is limited to a couple of makeshift benches under the slide.
