House of Blues Chicago: The Hey Arnold Score Live, Nov 7
Jim Lang and the PS 118 AllStars play the cartoon's score live for its 30th anniversary, with creator Craig Bartlett as guest.
🕖 Doors at 7, Show at 8
🎷 Five Genres, One Score
Jim Lang wrote the theme, the songs and the score that carried Hey Arnold! through five seasons. Jazz, hip hop, blues, R&B and funk sit in the same mix, a blend the tour credits with giving the series its warmth and its humor. The composer plays it himself, with the PS 118 AllStars behind him. Thirty years after the first episode the material still holds up as a band record rather than a stack of cartoon cues, and the anniversary tour puts it on a stage with a horn section and a rhythm section reading the same charts.
🎬 Screen, Stories, Guest
Multimedia visuals run alongside the music, and Lang tells stories from behind the score between numbers. The history of the show shares the room with the band playing it. Series creator Craig Bartlett appears as a special guest, and the tour describes the night as the show's themes, its fan favorite songs and a few of the moments that made the series. The stories between songs cover how those cues came together, from the theme to the short pieces that carried a single scene.
🎟️ Tickets, Doors, Entry
Tickets sell through Ticketmaster, and the Live Nation page for November 7 leads to the same listing, where face value and the fees added at checkout appear. The Music Hall is general admission standing room, and the show is 17 and over with photo ID checked at the door. Doors open at 7:00 PM, and the performance begins at 8:00 PM. Spending 25 dollars or more per person in the restaurant or the gear shop earns Pass the Line priority entry at most shows, and VIP tables, opera boxes and Fast Lane are separate upgrades rather than part of a standard ticket.
