Highland Park

Beyond the reservoir, the park is packed with soccer and baseball fields, tennis and basketball courts, a playground, and grills. The paths are well-maintained and clean, offering quiet stretches to spot wrens, red-breasted birds, and squirrels. While the reservoir lake is fenced off, the loop trail accommodates runners, walkers, and skateboarders, even if the pavement is not pristine blacktop. Most areas feel peaceful and green, though noise from Vermont Street can filter in, and some surrounding blocks feel sketchy enough that staying on the main paths is advised.
