Hear Washington Square Ghost Lore, Then Catch a DJ at Madame X
Ninety minutes of Washington Square's darker stories, then a red-lit Houston Street bar with a DJ from 9:00 PM.
🗺️ Two stops, a short walk apart
👻 Stop 1 · Greenwich Village Ghost Tour
This is a ticketed walk, not something you can join at the gate. A Shadow Tours USA guide meets the group outside 85 West Third Street, between Thompson and Sullivan, and leads it into Washington Square after dark. The history is real: the lawns sit on a former public burial ground. The rest is told as lore, including the elm known as the hanging tree, a headless horseman, Poe, and the old Burr and Hamilton stories. The 8:30 PM walks on Friday, October 16, Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24 line up with a DJ night at the second stop. Each walk takes about 90 minutes and costs 25 dollars, or 20 for students.

🎧 Stop 2 · Madame X
Madame X is a short walk away on West Houston Street. The room is lit almost entirely in red, with tufted sofas, low lamps and candles across two floors, two bars and a secret patio. Music starts at 9:00 PM on all three nights. DJ L Trendz plays on October 16 and 23, mixing hip-hop, soul, R&B and Latin, and UPTOWN NIKKO takes October 24 with house and dance. Entry is 21 and over with a physical photo ID, and it isn't guaranteed. Drinks are paid separately, and the door policy is worth checking before you go. The bar is open until 3:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.

🚶 From ghost stories to late-night music
The tour starts at 85 West Third Street, and its end point isn't published. Allow a few minutes to walk over from wherever the group breaks up. The walk wraps around 10:00 PM, when the set at Madame X has been going for about an hour. Bring a layer for 90 minutes outside on an October night, and expect the bar to be louder than a quiet nightcap once you arrive.
