Grilled Eel and Sushi for a Flushing Feast
Explore Korean set menus built around duck and beef abomasum, or Japanese plates ranging from sashimi to tempura shrimp. At Yoi Sushi & Ramen, bring cash and expect sauces that keep the fish in focus.
Two Flushing Kitchens
Charcoal Supper on 150th Street
Yuk Jun Gui serves grilled live eel in a small Flushing dining room run by a husband-and-wife team. Set menus feature duck and beef abomasum. The abomasum is cooked crisp outside and tender inside. Soup and eggs accompany the meal as complimentary sides. Everything is in Korean throughout the space. Hours run from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Tuesday through Sunday. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.

Japanese Plates on 39th Avenue
Specialty rolls at Yoi Sushi & Ramen come with sauces that leave the fish in focus. For a cooked plate, try seared fish with crispy skin and tender meat. Sashimi and bento boxes offer other ways to order. This small Flushing restaurant takes cash only for payment. Daily lunch specials run until 4:00 PM. On Friday and Saturday, the restaurant stays open until 11:00 PM.

Barbecue Meets Japanese Variety
Yuk Jun Gui builds a meal around grilled live eel and set menus featuring duck and beef abomasum, with soup and eggs served alongside. Yoi Sushi & Ramen offers a mix of hot and cold dishes, from sashimi and specialty rolls to teriyaki and tempura shrimp. The contrast lies in preparation and texture, crisp abomasum and grilled meats at the first restaurant, balanced sauces, creamy uni, and seared fish with crispy skin at the second.
