Gagosian's Two Massive Rooms, and Staff Who Explain Them

The Chelsea outpost at 522 W 21st St hangs monumental canvases in two rooms, and the staff will explain what you are seeing.

🔍 What to ask before you leave

Most visitors give this place fifteen to forty-five minutes, which is enough for two rooms and a slow lap of each. The staff are the part worth using, since they know the artists, the families behind the work and the reason a canvas is that size, and they will tell you if you ask. Admission is free and the space runs Monday to Friday only, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., so a Saturday plan will not work here. Pair it with the smaller rooms on 24th Street while the neighbourhood is quiet.
