🥐 Ube, Calamansi and Leche Flan

This Filipino bakery in Sunnyside turns classic bakery formats into something new. Kora Bakery started in a home kitchen during the pandemic and now runs a permanent storefront at 45-12 Greenpoint Ave in Queens. Start with the signature leche flan-filled brioche, the bakery's calling card, then add a Spam and cheese croissant for a savory counterpoint.

Laminated pastries and brioche donuts carry Filipino ingredients like ube, calamansi and tamarind. Each bake balances sweet, spicy and savory notes, often finished with crispy ube bits or flaky, cheese-topped dough. The ube pastries make a natural second order once the flan brioche is gone.

The shop has two dozen seats for lingering over a pastry and coffee, and prices stay mid-priced. Hours run from half past seven AM to 4 PM Wednesday through Friday and from 9 AM to 4 PM on Saturday and Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday closed.
