Four Friends, One Heated Igloo, About $65 Each

Cozy Igloos by ororo return to the Bryant Park rink deck on November 5. Each one is a clear heated dome with a table inside, set beside the skating pavilion at the southeast corner of the rink deck, with Midtown skyscrapers around it. Sessions last 90 minutes and hold up to eight people, and the walls stay clear enough to watch the rink while the temperature drops. In January and February the ticket site sells the same domes as Rosy Igloos, with afternoon tea and cocktails. The Holiday Shops run in the same Winter Village.

A large package for five to eight guests, $519.22 with taxes and fees included, comes with two carafes of hot chocolate or hot apple cider. A small package for one to four is $259.61 and gets one. Every guest picks one plate: mini hot dogs on potato buns with fries, buttermilk fried chicken fingers, an Oklahoma-style smash burger with no substitutions, a hummus plate, an Über Bavarian pretzel with bier cheese, or a sweet plate of chocolate treats with a marshmallow pop and chocolate-covered Oreos. Vegetarian and vegan plates are marked and gluten-free is on request. At eight people the large package works out to $64.90 a head, the same as four in a small one, and holiday dates cost more. Skating is not included, outside food and drink are not allowed, and extra plates and drinks can be ordered on site.

Book through the Peek ticket page and prepay. Arrive 15 minutes before your slot with the purchaser's credit card and a matching ID, and sign a receipt at check-in. There are no refunds, though you can reschedule until 48 hours before the start by emailing bookings@bryantpark.org or calling 917-438-5166. The igloos run rain, snow, or shine, and Bryant Park can cancel in severe weather. Children under two skip the food package but still count toward the eight-person cap, and only service animals are allowed inside. Skating is booked separately, and guests cannot move between the rink and the igloo area, so skate before or after.
