East Village Tonkotsu Ramen With Free Extra Noodles and Buns
Slurp East Village tonkotsu ramen at shared tables, then add buns and a cocktail as the evening runs late.
🍥 Ramen at the Communal Table
IPPUDO NY serves rich East Village tonkotsu ramen beside an open kitchen at 65 4th Ave. The brand opened its first U.S. location here in 2008, and IPPUDO NY still runs the room with pub-style energy and communal hibachi-style tables where you may sit alongside strangers.
Start with the Shiromaru Motoaji, the classic bowl, or go for beef sukiyaki with firm kaedama noodles. Extra noodles come free, a perk worth using on a hungry night. Shared plates fill out the table with takoyaki, pork or chicken buns, and sushi rolls finished with mango and dill, while cocktails keep the meal social and portions run generous.
Doors open at half past eleven AM on weekdays and 11 AM on weekends. Closing is half past ten PM Sunday through Thursday and half past eleven PM on Friday and Saturday, a later window for a ramen dinner with friends.
