SKATE at Domino Park, then Other Half Brewing

⛸️ Start on the ice before the light goes

SKATE at Domino Park opens its third season on Monday, November 9, on a 7,000 square foot rink in Domino Square beside the East River, and runs to February 21, 2027. Through December 22 it is open 2:30 to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends (with holiday exceptions like Thanksgiving, November 26–27, running 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.); December 23 to January 3, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Sessions last 75 minutes from the entry time on your ticket, and the rink lists no fixed start times, so entries come from the booking calendar. The ice is resurfaced at 11:45 a.m., 1:15, 2:45, 4:15, 5:45 and 7:15 p.m., and a session that overlaps one gets 15 extra minutes. Admission is $13 for New York City residents on weekdays and $17 on weekends, $20 and $24 for everyone else, rentals $13. Bags go in a paid day locker; restrooms are across South 3rd Street, skates off.

🍺 Trade the ice for an indoor bar stool

From the rink, walk about four minutes to 34 River Street for Other Half Brewing Domino Park, a taproom the brewery says has some of the best views of Manhattan, with a spacious room for groups and a limited amount of outdoor seating across the street from the park. Monday through Thursday it is open noon to 10 p.m., Friday noon to 11 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Order a draft pour or a select draft cocktail. The taproom serves no food, but food and snacks are welcome, with Stretch Pizza and Frita Batidos on the square, or Tacocina inside Domino Park.

🗺️ Run the opening week in one evening

On a weekday in the opening week, book a session around 3:30 p.m. and reach the South 3rd Street entrance ten minutes early. Seventy-five minutes from entry runs to 4:45; the 4:15 resurfacing takes 15 minutes out and adds 15 to the end, so the November 9 sunset at 4:43 p.m. lands mid-session. A 4 p.m. start runs to 5:30, past it, and later sunsets run from 4:31 p.m. at the solstice to 5:37 p.m. by the last day, so 3:30 holds for opening week. Rentals make it $26 as a city resident and $33 otherwise. Sales had not opened when checked on November 2, so the checkout page cannot yet show any service fee or tax; all sales are final, some sessions sell out, and the rink runs rain or shine. Walk to the taproom just after dark. Beside the rink, CUL DE SAC operates outdoor saunas for a winter residency from November 9 through February 21, offering 30-minute sessions (Monday–Thursday 4–9 p.m., Saturday–Sunday 9 a.m.–9 p.m.) with booking up to 30 days ahead; this is an independent reservation and separate paid experience not included with rink admission.
