Dog Halloween Costume Contest Returns to Greenwich Village
Bring your pup to a free dog Halloween costume contest in Washington Square on Saturday, with prizes for the top three.
🐶 Costume Contest at Garibaldi Plaza
The Washington Square Park Conservancy holds its annual dog Halloween costume contest on Saturday, October 17, from 10:00 AM to noon at Garibaldi Plaza. Entry is free with no sign-up, and the line opens at 9:30 AM and closes at 10:30 AM, which sets the window for every dog that wants a turn.
A panel of community judges names first, second and third place, and winners need to be there to collect prizes. Last year the field ran from Bob Ross to a pair of mops, in a square already known for people watching.
Washington Square Park stays open from 6:00 AM to midnight, with the marble arch, the fountain and the chess tables all a short walk from the plaza, and it holds a 4.6 rating across more than thirty-three thousand reviews.
