Dia Chelsea: Walk The Machine With a Guide

A guide leads the Lamelas survey at Dia Chelsea on Nov 14 and Dec 12, and the December date ends with a 2 pm performance.

Two free tours, Nov 14 and Dec 12

🧱 Start at the Wall

Inside, Untitled (Falling Wall) tips a white wall off its axis and braces it with raw timber that looks one nudge from going over. A Dia guide walks the room with you and takes questions as they come. About 30 minutes, walking and standing, with check-in at 12:45 pm.

It is the Argentine artist's first major solo survey in New York, with work from 1960s Buenos Aires to Los Angeles. In the film room, Time as Activity New York looks out of a taxi on FDR Drive and stamps the exact interval on screen, down to the second.

November 14 comes first. December 12 pairs the 1 pm tour with a 2 pm performance, when Gabriella Mazza steps into the 1968 Vietnam war news office and runs it live.

Miss it and two tours follow, December 12 and January 9, and the galleries stay free to walk alone Wednesday to Saturday, 12 to 6 pm. Dia Chelsea closes Sunday to Tuesday and on Thanksgiving, November 26. No food or drinks, bottles included, and large bags stay at the front desk.
