Plan a stop at El Molino.

🥐 Beyond the Bread Basket

El Molino puts Colombian baking front and center, with golden buñuelos, warm pandebono, and traditional coffee drawing locals through the door. Almojábanas and croissants join the selection, while custom cakes take things in a more celebratory direction. Service is fast and friendly, and the exterior has a welcoming feel.

Find the bakery on Jamaica Avenue in Queens. Individual fruit tarts bring another splash of color to the counter, with peach slices fanned around cherries and strawberry halves tucked along the edges. Other pastries pile red fruit over a white topping ringed with chopped nuts. The fluted paper cases keep each small pastry separate, even when several are lined up together on a metal tray. Those golden pastry shells offer a different direction from the breads.

Hours run from 6 AM to 8 PM Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 7 PM Saturday, and 8 AM to 5 PM Sunday.
