Dinner Under the Tree: Macy's 45-Foot Christmas Tree
A 45-foot tree is lowered through a 1907 dining room's ceiling each November; the holiday menu runs November 7 to January 17.
🎄 Booking, Photos and Closed Days
Walnut paneling, crystal chandeliers, and a 45-foot tree hanging through the ceiling until January 17, 2027. Tables sit under it from November 7, when Macy's marks Great Tree Lighting Day with a noon to 5pm celebration; seatings run 11am to 7pm and no single switch-on time is published.
Reserve on OpenTable before the holidays: a booking does not guarantee a table beside the tree, and only guests with a reservation may enter the restaurant to photograph it. A tree-view selfie spot outside is open to everyone, and the Wine Bar may hold a few walk-in high-top seats, full menu, no waitlist.
The room closes on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Seatings follow the date you book, so check that day's times on OpenTable (https://www.opentable.com/the-walnut-room-reservations-chicago); official details at https://macysrestaurants.com/walnut-room. Photo: the 2010 Great Tree.
