Make noodles your market ritual.

🥢 From Popups to a Stall

Make a Union Market run revolve around a bowl at Dan Dan Boy. The stall serves Chengdu dan dan noodles alongside fresh regional Chinese dishes and pantry provisions, bringing a meal and shopping into the same stop. Start with the signature, then leave room in the errand for something to take home.

The project grew out of Chinese Street Market DC, launched in 2019 to share regional food culture through cooking classes, cultural events, and farmers market popups. That community initiative now has a dedicated stall with a focused, curated menu. The connection runs from teaching and gathering to the food on your table.

Find it at 1309 5th St NE in Washington. It opens Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 8 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM. Build your market routine around those windows, whether the plan is a midday bowl or an evening stop.
