At Vortex Jazz Club, two performance spaces keep the players close to the listeners. One is slightly larger and the other tighter, with theatre style seating in front and standing room at the back. The setup favors attentive listening as solo acts and full bands move through experimental jazz, improvised sets, and modern composition.
The on site bar pours wine and local brews between sets. Sunday hours run from 3 PM to 11 PM, useful for an afternoon start. Plan to stand, as seats are guaranteed only for members and customers unable to stand who notify in advance.
