Description
Camp Gateway sits on the old Floyd Bennett Field, part of Gateway National Recreation Area, with tent and RV camping from April through October. The historic airfield still sees helicopter traffic, adding to the atmosphere, while visitors can explore hiking, biking, and birding along with tours of historic aircraft and forts. On-site facilities include air-conditioned restrooms and showers, and plenty of parking. Just remember: it's Brooklyn camping, so the noise can be intense at times.
