Description

Originally opening in 1924 as a premiere film house, this landmark venue once introduced American audiences to Mickey Mouse in Walt Disney’s Willie and later premiered Fantasia. It is one of only five playhouses that front directly on the street named Broadway. After transitioning to legitimate stage productions, the theatre hosted historic runs for major musicals including South Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof, Les Misérables, and Miss Saigon. Patrons encounter a grand, historic interior alongside practical trade-offs like narrow seating and a high mezzanine that can obstruct views from the rear orchestra.
