Brazilian Cheese Bread and Espresso Behind South Street Seaport

Grab one of about ten seats on a cobblestone block for caramelized banana bread or a pesto chicken sandwich.

Try the warm cheese bread.

☕ Coffee and Cheese Bread

Down a cobblestone street behind South Street Seaport, Café Patoro runs a compact Brazilian coffee shop built around warm pão de queijo. Espresso shares the counter with sandwiches built on cheese bread buns, a savory twist on the usual café lineup.

Seating is tight, with room for only about ten people inside the shop. Dogs are welcome, which makes it an easy pause on a Seaport walk with a four legged companion in tow.

Beyond the cheese bread, the sweet side runs to caramelized banana bread, while a pesto chicken sandwich covers the savory end. Doors open daily from 8 AM to 4 PM, a window that fits a morning espresso, a late breakfast, or an early afternoon bite between Seaport errands and waterfront strolls. Order at the counter, grab a warm roll or two, and linger as long as a seat stays free.
