Art-World Dining Inside an OMA-Designed Museum Restaurant

Dine inside the New Museum, where a spaceship-like room gives a Freeman Alley meal an art-world edge.

Enter through Freeman Alley.

🛰️ Design Meets Dinner

Start at Freeman Alley and the night gets an art world prelude before the first plate arrives. Oberon sits inside the New Museum, where OMA designed interiors turn the dining room into something closer to an installation than a standard restaurant. The atmosphere can feel dark, while service is warm, welcoming, and friendly.

The cooking is seasonal and vegetable forward, with cocktails giving the room a second lane for a longer evening. For timing, the doors open at 11am Tuesday through Sunday, while Monday starts at 5pm. Every night runs until 1am, leaving room for a late lunch, dinner, or a drink after a museum stop.

Use the standalone entrance at 7 Freeman Alley, then let the room do its work. The combination of the New Museum setting, spaceship like design, and food led pacing makes this a natural pick when the meal should carry the evening rather than simply follow it.
