🎃 Wednesday at the Center

🏠 This Year's Brief

Pumpkitecture is the Center for Architecture's annual pumpkin carving competition, where New York design firms compete for the Pritzkerpumpkin. The 2026 challenge asks teams to carve intricate, proportioned residential interiors inside their pumpkins, imagining the future of living in the city. DLR Group and Shakespeare Gordon Studio are among the firms already announced, with more to be named before the night.

🔪 Watch, Listen, Vote

Live carving runs from 6:15 PM to 7:30 PM, and attendees watch up close as tiny rooms take shape inside the gourds. Arrive before 6:15 PM to see each pumpkin go from first cut to finished interior. When the knives go down, each team presents its pumpkin in a short design defense, a jury names the Pritzkerpumpkin winner, and the audience votes for the People's Pumpkin, with spooky snacks and drinks on hand through the evening.

🎟️ Tickets and Getting There

The evening runs from 6 PM to 8:30 PM on Wednesday, October 28 at the Center for Architecture, 536 LaGuardia Place in Greenwich Village.
