Description
Situated on Avenue L between Nostrand Avenue and East 29th Street, this playground lies next to Junior High School 240. Both are named for Andries Hudde, a 17th-century Dutch government servant. In 1636, Hudde purchased 3,600 acres from Native Americans—a colonial tract that now encompasses this site and the surrounding Midwood neighborhood.
