Description

Named for the civic leader who shepherded Central Park into existence and led the consolidation of New York City, the park connects municipal heritage with industrial reuse. The centerpiece is Alice Aycock's 80-foot aluminum sculpture, dedicated in 1995. A 2024 expansion added an esplanade with seating, a lawn, and a ramp connecting to East 60th Street for easy pedestrian and cyclist access. The park also features a dog-friendly area.
