Start in the early evening, when a walk can take in the downtown skyline before sunset. Buffalo Bayou Park stretches across 160 acres, with winding trails setting the pace and broad lawns offering a reason to leave the pavement for a while.
Wide walking and biking trails give you two ways to explore. A picnic can turn a quick outing into a slower evening, with plenty of grass to spread out on. Public art sculptures and a fountain add stops beyond the skyline, while dog parks and a skate park bring other kinds of movement into the grounds.
Use 105 Sabine Street as your starting address, then leave the rest of the route open. The park is open daily from 6 AM to 11 PM, giving an evening stroll room to unfold without turning it into a race against closing time.
