A Weekend Built Around Better Footwork

Three workouts do not automatically make a better weekend. Make each one earn its place: Friday pairs boxing fundamentals in Long Island City with tea, Saturday follows semi-private boxing with Korean salt bread, and Sunday ends with Chelsea conditioning and market sides. Book the training first; the snacks can follow.

Make room for better footwork.

🥊 Friday: Fundamentals in LIC

Start at BOUT Boxing LIC for boxing fundamentals and conditioning, not a contest of strength. Confirm a Friday class and ask what gear to bring before booking. Then head to Cozy Tea - Long Island City inside LIC Food Hall for fruit tea or brown sugar boba. Let the technique lesson, rather than the sugar, set the evening's pace.

🥊 Saturday: Refine, Then Refuel

Carry that focus into a booked semi-private session at Bredwinners Boxing. Ask how the session fits your experience; Saturday's listed hours end at 3 PM, not a guaranteed class slot. Follow with Salt Bread Ko for Korean-style rolls. Seating is extremely limited and batches can sell out, so treat the bakery as a flexible takeaway stop.

💪 Sunday: Conditioning, Then Lunch

Finish with conditioning at Barry's Chelsea, keeping the effort appropriate after two boxing days. Check Sunday's class schedule and book before committing; studio hours alone do not promise a space. Then settle into Westville Chelsea for comfort food and market vegetable sides. Its weekend brunch runs until 4 PM, leaving the meal dependent on when your workout actually ends.

☔ Plan B: Trim the Weekend

Rain: Keep the indoor training stops only if your bookings and travel still work. Skip extra wandering between the gym and its food stop; check the route and current opening hours before leaving. A wet forecast is a reason to shorten the day, not to add another workout.

Crowds: If a class is full, do not assume walk-in access or replace it with an unplanned session elsewhere. Keep only the confirmed parts of that day's pair. At Salt Bread Ko, plan for takeaway rather than a seat, and be ready to leave without a particular flavor.

Tighter budget: Choose one training booking for the weekend instead of paying for all three. Ask each gym about the current total cost and any required gear before reserving; do not count on an introductory offer. Keep a tea or bakery stop only if it fits what remains.
