A Waterfront Brooklyn Park With Courts and Greenway Access
Bike rides, ball games, and a shaded playground make this Bensonhurst shoreline stop easy to stretch into an afternoon.
🏞️ Courts Under Shade
Start at Bensonhurst Park on Cropsey Avenue, where a waterfront stretch opens into a large circular central lawn and a full spread of courts. Baseball fields, basketball courts, and some of the city's most popular handball courts keep the pace lively, while eight hard court tennis courts sit near the Bay Parkway side. The Shore Parkway Greenway adds a bike route to the outing. The lineup offers a choice of court play, open lawn, or a playground stop.
Point kids toward the shaded playground, which has two play areas and a pair of swings. The park serves both Bensonhurst and Bath Beach, with room to move between sport, play, and water. Gates open at 6 AM and the grounds stay open daily until 1 AM, a long window for an early start or a late walk. Bring a bike, then leave time for the shoreline, and expect the park to fill quickly on summer weekends.
