A Peaceful Reservoir Loop With Skyline Views in Brooklyn
Spot wrens and red breasted birds along quiet paths at this green park on the Brooklyn and Queens border.
🌲 Fields, Courts, and Birdsong
Highland Park gives you a city walk with room to roam right on the Brooklyn and Queens border. Start at 375 Jamaica Avenue and follow the loop around the birch lined Ridgewood Reservoir, where the skyline comes into view. The paths are well maintained and clean, with quiet stretches that suit a steady walk, a run, or a skateboard roll.
The park keeps its energy spread across the grounds. Soccer and baseball fields sit alongside tennis and basketball courts, a playground, and grills, while wrens, red breasted birds, and squirrels turn the quieter edges into a small piece of urban wildlife.
The reservoir itself is fenced off, which keeps the loop trail as the main circuit for walkers and runners. Highland Park is open daily from 6 AM to 9 PM, leaving room for an early start before work or an evening lap before the gates close.
