Veterans parade walks the Parkway at noon and ends at Eakins Oval with a festival. Rodin's museum is ten minutes up the street.
🥁 Sunday on the Parkway
🎖️ What the March Is
The parade steps off at noon along Benjamin Franklin Parkway, heading west toward the Art Museum steps. Spectators line the sidewalks from 16th Street out to 22nd, with the marching units and veteran groups arriving in waves through the early afternoon. The Grand Marshal is Montford Point Marine veteran Roosevelt Farrow, and Channel 6 broadcasts the march live along the avenue.
🎺 The Oval After the Last Float
At the finish, the festival fills Eakins Oval from 12:30 to 3:30 with live music and an Evil Genius beer garden. Sanovia performs first, followed by Ami Yares with a twelve string guitar on the main stage. Food vendors line the oval with barbecue, Cajun plates and funnel cakes, so you can grab lunch while watching the final units arrive at the foot of the museum.
🗿 Ten Minutes to Rodin
From Eakins Oval, walk about ten minutes southeast along the Parkway to the Rodin Museum at 22nd Street, open Sunday until 5. Admission to the museum is Pay What You Wish, with a suggested 15 dollars for adults, and the garden is always free. The Thinker greets you right at the garden gate, leading to galleries holding one of the largest collections of Rodin bronzes outside Paris.
