A Monday Quiz in a Third Avenue Sports Bar

Barfly runs a two hour Monday quiz with rounds, music and prizes, played across the bar rather than on a stage.

Take a stool at Barfly and play the Monday rounds.

🍻 Two Hours, Several Rounds

🧠 How the Night Runs

Rounds run across a couple of hours with music between them, and the host works the room rather than a stage. Teams form at the bar, and a pair is enough to enter. Late arrivals get slotted into whichever table is short, which is how most regulars first got here. Prizes are bar credit rather than cash. Nobody checks whether you have played before. Question sets lean on general knowledge with a music round in the middle. A tiebreak round settles anything close.

📺 The Room on Third Avenue

Barfly sits on Third Avenue with the windows open to the street and screens running whatever game is on. Stools line the counter along the glass. Sound carries off the tin ceiling, and the back tables hear the host more clearly. Wood panelling and neon give it the shape of an older Manhattan bar. The floor stays walkable even when the room fills. The kitchen keeps going through the quiz and the wings arrive fast. Standing room opens up along the back wall.

🚪 Getting In

The quiz runs Monday, October 5 from seven to nine in the evening at 244 Third Avenue. Entry is walk-in and no booking applies. Arrive before the first round if you want a seat at the counter. The 6 train to 23rd Street leaves you three blocks west. Anyone after a quiet drink and conversation should pick a different night of the week. Bar credit prizes are spendable the same night. Kitchen orders keep running until the last round.
