🌿 Gardens Meet History
Trade the downtown grid for the White Rock Lake shoreline. Dallas Arboretum spreads across 22 named gardens east of downtown, with the Jonsson Color Garden, Rose Garden and Fern Dell giving you three starting points. The DeGolyer Gardens cover 4.5 acres of the grounds.
The DeGolyer House adds a different scale to the day. This 21,000 square foot estate is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is open daily for tours. Enter at 8525 Garland Road for the entrance closest to the house, A Tasteful Place and the Hoffman Family Gift Shop.
The garden opens daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, with closures on Thanksgiving, Christmas and the first day of January. Arriving by car, you can use the parking garage at 8720 Garland Road and follow its underground walkway into the garden. On site parking costs 15 dollars per vehicle, plus tax and fees.
